300 Series

Product Description

Choosing the right stainless steel for an application is key to ensuring both cost effectiveness and success of the project.

Grades available

GRADE 304

This grade of stainless steel is a classic18% chromium, 8% nickel austenitic stainless steel. It is an all-purpose product with good corrosion resistance and is suitable for a wide variety of applications that require good formability and weldability. Grade 304 can be delivered with a variety of surface finishes.

Typical Applications:

  • Household appliances and consumer goods
  • Kitchen equipment
  • Indoor and outdoor cladding, handrails and window frames
  • Food and beverage industry equipment
  • Storage tanks
  • Flanges and valves

GRADE 316/316L

The most widely used molybdenum-alloyed austenitic stainless steel is grade 316 and it is low-carbon variant of grade316L. It is used in various process industries and other aggressive environments with high corrosion resistance requirements. Due to its low carbon content, Grade316L is also weldable in thicknesses of more than 5-6 mm without sensitivity to the intergranular corrosion.

Typical Application:

  • Equipment in the chemical and petrochemical industry
  • Pulp and paper industry equipment
  • Heat exchangers
  • Textile industry equipment
  • Food and beverage industry equipment
  • Medical applications
  • Flanges and valves

GRADE 316 PLUS

This is the highest strength stainless steel. It is a cost-efficient, 21Cr, lower nickel/molybdenum alternative to traditional molybdenum-alloyed austenitic like Grade 316L. This product has good formability, excellent weldability, and is usable in cryogenic applications.

Typical Applications:

  • Process and transport tanks
  • Water treatment and pipes
  • Heat exchangers
  • Architectural applications
